Description
M1924 First Aid Pouch--British MadeOriginal WW2 GI M1924 first aid pouch made under British contract for US Army, heavy khaki web construction with steel M1910 belt hook and blackened brass British type button snap. Well marked U.S. on flap, faintly marked BAGCRAFT LTD. 1943/BRITISH MADE under flap. Measures 6 x 3 1/8 inches. Average fading from use with numerous small rust and/or water stains and belt hook is rusty, but no holes, fraying or other damage.
Pouch is the same size as the British made M1924 pouch [which featured a lift dot snap and looked exactly like the US version], but was either a manufacturer variant or "transitional" type between the M1924 and M1942 pouch [the M1942 being slightly larger and featuring the British button snap]. I've had numerous examples of both types over the years, but have never seen this version. Interesting variant for any collector of British made US web gear and is in good condition. Any questions please feel free to ask.
