    Description

    Up for sale is a Wilder ALL-SHAPES  3" bench vise Model S-300. This very unusual vise was made by R.S. Wilder Inc. of Watham, Mass. It has a 3 piece jaw design where on one side are two rotating oblong sloped jaws that swivel to any position independently to make gripping almost any shape possible. Those odd shape jaws rotate 360 degrees independently to each other.  One of the two rotating jaws does come off if need be to make room. They sit on a round base or turret that also rotates about 90 degrees. The vise measures just over 9" long when closed and jaws that open to 4" wide. The vise weighs just over 12 lbs. There was a small article about this vise in the March 1959 Popular Science magazine as seen in picture. Also a references of a design patent  # D187553 on May 15th 1958.
