Vintage Swimming Seal Rich Wood Sculpture Base Hand Carved Signed Terry Woodall.
With a rich, deep patina, this vintage piece shows the motion and grace of a seal swimming in the water. The seal is mounted on a piece of Oregon Myrtle wood via a metal rod, and the seal can "move" then by twisting the seal on the rod so it can face sideways or in either direction. The art of Terry Woodall is in capturing the light within the wood as well as choice of natural base top to simulate the flowing current of the water. All in all, one of my family's favorite pieces!
Size: seal is 13 long, 3 wide, and the piece stands 6.5 inches from base to top of seal's head.
Condition: Items are sold "as is" so please review pictures. In this case, I can see no imperfections other than a pin-hole indentation on the seal's throat when it is looking left. I have not polished or thoroughly dusted the item in years.
