    This is a “Buy it Now” listing for brand new quality Thermal Enterprises 40mm peltiers from the USA.
    They are model CP1-12710 high performance industrial grade units and come lapped for tolerance flatness and more efficient thermal transfer.
    Each unit comes complete with rugged pre-tinned insulated lead wires with strain relief sleeves and RTV perimeter sealant for moisture protection.
    Performance

    These are extremely reliable and robust peltiers with a MTBF on the order of 200,000 hours (That’s more than 20 years of reliable service).
    With the hot side is at 50° C these powerful devices have a maximum consumption of 10.9 amps at the maximum voltage of 15.4 volts give a peak power consumption of 168 watts. They will give a maximum temperature differential of 68° C between the hot and cold sides and offer more than 100 watts of heat pumping power with a resistance of 1.2 ohm at 25° C

    Thermoelectric coolers (TEC) are solid-state heat pumps that utilize the Peltier effect. When a direct current voltage is applied to the TEC heat will be pumped from one side of the TEC to the other, creating a cold and hot side.
    By changing the polarity you can reverse the direction of heat transfer thus changing which side of the device will become cold and which will become hot.
    Consequently, the TEC can be used for both cooling and heating applications making it a perfect solution for precise temperature control applications.
    The TEC module can also be used as a source of electricity. The device will actually generate electricity when a temperature differential is maintained across the two sides.
    Simply apply heat to one side while cooling the opposite side and you will begin to generate electricity.
    TEC modules consist of a number of junctions or couples (paired elements of N-type and P-type) that are connected electrically in series and are thermally positioned in parallel.
    These junctions or couples are typically sandwiched between two ceramic substrates that hold the structure together mechanically and electrically insulate the elements from one another and from external mounting surfaces.
    The highest quality TEC devices have relatively thin ceramic substrates to effect more efficient thermal transfer.

They can be used to provide heat or even produce current when a temperature differential is maintained between the hot and cold sides!
    Peltiers are often referred to as solid-state heat pumps. They pump heat from their cold side to the hot side.
    Because they pump heat and do not “eat heat” a suitable heatsink is required to maintain this thermal flow and to protect the device from overheating.
