    . IT BECAME AN IMPORTANT ARTERY FOR CONVOY TRAFFIC EXITING UTAH BEACH, OPERATED BY THE
    1ST ENGINEER SPECIAL BRIGADE
    . TODAY THE ROAD IS NAMED
    'ROBERTSON ROAD'
    IN HONOUR OF
    SGT. LLOYD M. ROBERTSON JR, 286TH JOINT ASSAULT SIGNAL COMPANY (1ST ESB).
    HE WAS KILLED IN ACTION FOUR DAYS AFTER D-DAY ON JUNE 10, 1944.
    THE SHIRT IS THE 'SPECIAL' VERSION DATING FROM LATE 1942 WITH GAS FLAP BEHIND THE FRONT CLOSURE, & TWO BUTTONS UNDER THE COLLAR FOR ATTACHING THE ANTI-GAS HOOD. THE LABEL ON THE INSIDE RIGHT BREAST POCKET IS WASHED OUT. SIZE '36R' BUT A LARGE FIT. ONLY DAMAGE IS A
    SMALL BURN(?) HOLE 4.0 X 1.0 CMS (1.75 X 0.5 INS) JUST BELOW THE REAR COLLAR (SEE PHOTOS).
