Large and very heavy ironwood carving by the Seri (Native Americans of Baja California) of a seal or sealion. Approximately 10" long at base and approximately 10" high. Weighs about 6lbs 8oz. No chips, no splits. In more recent years some ironwood carving were not made by the Seri, but we believe this is a fairly early piece is of their workmanship.
