NEAR MINT PRE-WWII US ARMY KHAKI TROUSER BELT W/BUCKLE, J.Q.M.D. 1936 40-IN

Description

This is an original pre-WWII US Army khaki trouser belt, dated 1936, in a men's size 40 inch waist. The belt is in near mint condition, hardly used. It is made of a thick khaki-colored cotton webbing, stamped on one side with "U.S. J.Q.M.D. 1936 40." This indicates that the belt was made at the Jeffersonville, Indiana U.S. Army Quartermaster Depot in 1936. The belt has a blackened brass buckle, it is stamped with "ANCHOR BRAND," and has an anchor symbol between the two words. There is a blackened brass buckle tip. The belt measures about 1 inch wide, this is a bit thinner than the U.S. Army trouser belts issued in 1940 and later. The belt measures about 39 1/2 inches from end to end, including the buckle and tip. ******** The belt is in near mint condition, it is crisp and has never been washed. Stampings are clear, the metal hardware is in nice condition. There is some very slight soiling, looks like it was worn once or twice, but overall I'd say about mint condition. The very slight soiling that does exist is in the area where the buckle would have been closed when worn. A very nice example of a pre-WWII to early WWII trouser belt, in a decent size.
