    Description

Offered here is a new finely-crafted hard-maple woodworkers vise screw assembly. Included are the screw, nut block, handle with threaded ends and knobs, leather bumpers, solid brass garter plates with decorative turned edge and brass mounting screws.
The two-start thread has a lead of 3/4" per revolution, which is faster than the more typical 1/2" lead for a screw of this size. The two-start thread provides a more refined look, while providing equal strength in comparison to a single-start screw. The screw is made from a single piece of hard maple with no laminations.
There is generous thread clearance provided to ensure the nut will
    not
seize on the screw due to large variations in relative humidity throughout an entire year.
Wood is a natural product, and some cosmetic blemishes such as sap streaks, small tight knots etc. are to be expected. Photos are of the actual assembly you will receive. All parts are made by me.
The screw and handle parts are dyed medium-dark brown and finished with several coats of Danish oil. The nut block is bare wood and can be finished as desired.
    Screw:
24" total length with 17" of thread length.

    Nut block:
