Antique Sconces

Antique Sconces.
Very unusual pair of sconces. I am not exactly sure what these are.
They are large candle holders. They are approximately 11 inches tall and extend from the wall 10 inches.
They have a back plate made of wood. I believe these are brass or copper. A magnet does not stick to these. They appear to have some form of finish or point on then.
These look like candle holders and I know that is what they have most recently been used for. These came from a collector and he an I agree that they look like they may have been a gas fixture at some time. I can’t say for sure, but they look very cool as they are.
I think the back plate is much newer than the sconces. I would remove that and screw these to the wall.
I have a feeling these are something much better than they appear to be.
