This skeletal fixture probably went inside a very large decorative plaster hanging light where the light was reflected up towards the ceiling.
Very interesting cast iron hook details
Measures 43 inches tall and 24 Inches in diameter with cages.
Weighing approximately 15 pounds.
Brass poles measure 29 inches long.
Cages measure 7 1/2 inches long.
The tubing holding up the top hooked piece to the canopy came from an antique gas lamp.
The canopy is new.
Unfortunately
, the Mercury glass clam shell light shades are long gone.
The fixture has been rewired, though I am NOT an electrician. I found the brass poles in the same home, but I am not sure they are original to the fixture. The wires are covered with a braided brass sleeve and will pull taut when hung from ceiling.
I did wire brush the heavily rust covered cages to a shinier steel.
Spent many hours working on this!
You will not find another one like this for sure!
I have packed it in two boxes. Metal shade clamps have been removed for shipping. Easy re-assembly.
