Description
This is a rare piece of New York State Police collectible ephemera; an original, authentic New York State Police / New York State Troopers Special Report dated March 2, 1943. This typewritten one of a kind Special Report is from Troop K (Hawthorne, New York.) Subject line is "Honor Guard: Gov. Dewey: China Ware Relief - Madison Square Garden, NY City." Though unsigned as it appears to be an early draft (as evidenced by the handwritten/pen edits/corrections,) the "To" recipient is the Commanding Officer, Troop "K", Hawthorne, NY and the subject matter/body of the report summarizes the actions of State Troopers who accompanied/guarded Gov. Thomas Dewey and 9 other Governors from the Roosevelt Hotel to the Waldorf-Astoria and then Madison Square Garden with a motorcycle escort. The report references a dinner and reception for Madame Chiang. One page report is as shown; has general vintage wear such as creases, age-related darkening, some small tears and stains, and crease/fold lines. Has a bit of hand writing on back as shown.
